Colours

Colours

The Style Editor gives you the opportunity to define the colour a signal takes on a plot.  Typically part of the dialog box you will be presented with   will look like this:

ColourSelection.bmp (16518 bytes)

Click on  Browse... to show a selection of colors - a palette - to assign, or on Set RGB... to set a specific RGB value.

Choosing a colour from a palette

ColourBrowse.bmp (17146 bytes)

Click on the square of colour that you would like to assign to the line representing your signal, and click OK. to close the dialog box. Cancel will close the box without making any changes.

The palettes that define these colours are defined in plain text files in the Colours directory of your JETDSP installation.  For example, line.pal in this directory holds the following by default:

255 0 0 red
0 0 255 blue
255 0 255 pink
0 255 0 green
255 255 0 yellow
0 255 255 turquoise

Each line consists of an RGB triple followed by a text name.  line.pal is the file used to define the palette used for lines - i.e., 2D signals or SV signals as markers.

Choosing an RGB colour

If you clicked on Set RGB the following dialog box will appear:

SelectRGB.bmp (15482 bytes)

As you move the sliders the colour panel changes.

Click OK. to close the dialog box and assign this colour to your signal. Cancel will close the box without making any changes.

Palettes known to JETDSP

These are in the Colours directory.

line.pal - for 2D line plots and single-valued signals displayed as markers

contour.pal - for contour plots

surface.pal - for surface plots

text.pal - for annotation text
