Style Editing - 2D signals

2D Signal Styles

When any signal is selected the style editor can invoked by clicking the 'Style...' button.

For a 2D signal (i.e., a signal which is a function of one independent variable - see types), the Style Editor dialog box looks like this:

Style2DEdit.bmp (139510 bytes)

The parameters specific to a 2D plot are:

  • whether to select a colour or to have the program select one for you.  The latter choice is referred to Auto, and the program will cycle through colours from a palette, assigning them in turn to the next signal.
  • its colour if not automatically selected
  • its linestyle - the program provides a droplist of different types including no line.
  • the symbol to be plotted at any data point.
  • the thickness of the line.

The currently available symbols are:
LabelPlotted symbol
  No symbol
+A cross
*An asterisk
.A dot
DA diamond
TA triangle
SA square
XA drawn X

Note that a symbol can be plotted both with and without the associated line by changing the linestyle.

If you would like to be able to plot 2D data in a different way (for example as a scatter plot or as vertical markers) please email dmsd-support@jet.efda.org.
