View Data as Text

To view the data of a signal as text from the main signal window select it by clicking the box in column 'V' (for view) next to the signal URN. For example:

Then select 'View Marked Signal Data' from the 'Information' menu. Multiple signals can be selected at the same time and will be displayed as a table (1 column per signal) against the principle data axis (time or spacial dimension). The data of the signal will appear in an editor window. If principle axes vary across signals they will be merged into a single contiguous list and data represented at the appropriate points. It is not possible to view 2D and 3D data formats at the same time.

Please note that any changes made to the data in this file will not result in the program's copy of the data being modified.

The default editor used for this is nedit on Linux JAC and notepad on Windows. You can change this editor by changing the following line:

TEXTEDITOR nedit

in the jetdsp startup file. This is usually at $HOME/.jetdsprc on Unix and C:\Winnt\Profiles\username\jet\jetdsp\jetdsp.ini on Windows. A full definition of the location of this file for non-standard installations is given here.

If you would like extra information to be included in the text file that is generated and viewed by JETDSP, or for the format to be different (or under user control), please email us at dmsd-support@jet.efda.org.
