JETDSP's setup files

Preferences

The Preferences dialog is invoked from the main JETDSP window by selecting 'Preferences' from the 'File' menu.  It allows you to change various parameters for the program, and is split into five sections.

After changing the parameters you need, click the 'Exit' button to apply the changes and close the dialog.  Note that the changes will only be saved for use in future JETDSP sessions if you click the 'Save...' button.

The different preferences panels are explained at the following links:

From this section of the dialog you can:

  • Choose whether to request comments in Datatype queries. This is a specific option for the PPF browsing functions (see here)
  • Select deferred signal reading.  If this option is in force then when you define a signal to the main jetdsp table it will be recorded by the table but not actually retrieved.  Instead the left hand column of buttons in the table will show the label 'Read' next to the signal: click on this button to load the data into the program.
  • The 'Request Comments in DataType queries' field, if not selected, minimizes the amount of network traffic and data recall that is made when using the PPF directory facilities.

Please note that the settings relating to "JETNET account" and "netrc file" are obsolete.
